Intro Physics I Labs

Practice

Your goal in any class should be mastery of the material. Practice is an integral part of that process!! You want to do as many problems with as much variety as you can, and continue until you get the problems correct most of the time!! Below you will find PDFs of practices and labs. I will be supplying both answers (the actual value) and solutions (How to do the problem) to the practices separately.

How to Practice

  • Try the problems. Look at your notes and any sample problems to help you.
  • When you get an answer to the problem, check the answer key.
  • If your answer is not correct, re-do it!! Do not go to the solutions yet!! Go instead back to your notes and sample problems.
  • If your still not getting the correct answer, then go to the solutions and see how I did the problem.

Under no circumstances should you do this practice while looking at the solutions!! That may help you get the answer, but you won’t have learned anything!!

Some basic math and conversions

Improve your unit conversion skill!! This practice takes you from the very basic to the super complicated (AKA Fun!!)

      In Class Labs

Below are the labs I hope to complete in class. My goal is for students to gain the skills listed. The activities may be altered during class depending on time or how things seem to be working out.

This is the first part of a two part lab. Students are introduced to the equipment and the data it provides. This lab will help students better understand next weeks Science Mom’s lessons.
